Your prospect might not be ready to book with you, just yet…

A prospective customer comes to your web site looking for a photographer… 

They look around… 

Then they leave. 


9 times out of 10, they simply aren’t ready to commit, just yet. 

If you need fuel for your car, you go to your nearest petrol station and fill up that’s an easy decision. 

But booking a photographer isn’t like that. 

Choosing a photographer can take time and sometimes needs an element of trust. 

And the more expensive the service – a head shot will take less time to consider than a wedding – the longer it will take to build that trust. 

So, what are you doing to keep in touch with those 9 out of 10 visitors who leave? 

Do you have a way for them to sign up to receive more information from you without a huge commitment on their part?

The very least you need is a form for them to complete to receive something of value to them in exchange for their name and email address…

It’s really important not to ask for too much from them at this stage, tests have shown that the more information you ask for the less likely they will be to fill in the form.

First name and email address is plenty at this stage.

You can easily produce a document, giving them relevant advice and tips on the type of photography they are interested in, turn it into a pdf and offer it to them in exchange for their first name and email address.

For example, if you educate your prospect about what to look for in a photographer and give them lots of useful tips and advice they’re going to see you as an authority, an expert in your field.

They’ll be grateful that you helped them understand how to make an informed decision, making them more likely to choose you when they’re ready to book a photographer than someone else who hasn’t helped them in any way.

Now you are in a position to keep in touch with them by email over a period of time, continually adding value each time, not selling but being helpful so that you are the only choice when the time is right for them to commit.

If you already have all this in place and are following up regularly with your prospects well done, if not give it a try, you’ll be surprised at the difference it will make to you bookings.
